About the Monsignor Feeney Foundation

The Monsignor Feeney Foundation is an independent educational Foundation that was established in 1983 by members of the Catholic community to enhance educational experiences through the arts. Since that time the Foundation has continued to grow and now through the Foundation's fundraising activities, provides opportunities for children and youth to help develop their lifelong learning skills, to develop their spirituality, and to enhance their future. The Foundation, through partnerships with the home, church and the community, hopes to continue growing into the next millennium. The Foundation, through its annual fundraising campaigns, has provided over a million dollars to support scholarships, bursaries, resources for special needs children, the performing and visual arts, anti-violence programs, special programs in religion and family life, and numerous other educational enhancements that help to create great citizens of tomorrow.

Monsignor Feeney (1905-1981)

The Foundation's draws its inspiration and drive from its namesake, Monsignor J.A. Feeney. Monsignor Feeney committed his life to serving the church, the community and Catholic education in London and surrounding areas for over 30 years. His view of Catholic education was large and visionary with a focus on excellence. Monsignor Feeney was the founder of the Parent - Teacher Associations of Ontario, a supporter of the Ontario Separate School Trustees Association and a highly respected government advisor on issues concerning Catholic education. Today, many years after his death, his leadership continues as an inspiration to all who know the importance and benefit of Catholic education. His contribution to Catholic schools in this community and in the province is immeasurable.
